RTEC RS Magnus USWith a form factor of 18x4 mm and a thickness of just 1.8 mm, the RTEC RS Magnus is an extremely small UHF RFID tag designed to track metallic assets that offer very limited space to accommodate a tag, such as surgical instruments and work hand tools. The rugged encasement survives repeated autoclave processes, exposure to high temperature up to 150 degrees Celsius, corrosive agents and severe mechanical stresses, making the tag a reliable solution for assets that must undergo sterilizations and prolonged use in harsh environments. Leveraging the RFMicron Magnus-S2 chip with RFMicron's Chameleon technology, the RTEC RS Magnus is capable of sensing the proximity of objects and the surrounding pressure and moisture variations to adapt itself to these de-tuning factors to constantly provide high performance, with read range up to 1 meter. Using the same capabilities, the RS Magnus can be employed for security purposes, for instance to check if an object is moved away from close proximity to the tag, and as low-cost pressure and moisture sensor. The RFMicron Magnus-S2 chip provides up to 272 bits of EPC memory and up to 144 bits of additional user memory. This product version is optimized for use in the 902-928 MHz frequency band (Americas, Japan).
