Omni-ID presented the Fit product range, a family of extremely small UHF RFID tags designed for being attached on or embedded in hand tools, weapons and a variety of other metal and plastic surfaces with room constraints.

The Fit 200 are extremely small RFID tags specifically designed for high performance on metallic surfaces. Measuring just 8.6 x 6.1 x 2.6 mm, these RFID tags are an ideal solution for hand tools, sockets included, weapons and very small IT assets. They can be used also on medical assets and surgical instruments since they survive high temperature up to 150°C and cleaning processes, including autoclave sterilization. The Fit 200 are also compatible with finishing processes such as dipping, coating, heat shrinking and moulding for being integrated into assets at the point of manufacture. Despite their micro-sizes, these UHF RFID tags provide read range up to 2.5 m with fixed readers and up to 1.25 m with handheld readers.

The Fit 400 are very similar to the Fit 200, having all the same great features and capabilities, but slightly bigger sizes and longer read range. In fact, these tags measure 13.1 x 7.1 x 3.1 mm and provide extremely long read distance for such small on metal RFID tags: up to 4 meters with fixed readers and up to 2 meters with handheld readers.

Optimized for metal substrates, the Fit 210 tags have a very narrow profile which make them a perfect fit for wrenches and ratchets since they can be attached without making the hold uncomfortable. Despite the very thin profile — 1.3 mm — the Fit 210 have a durable encasement that withstands high temperature and harsh conditions typical of industrial environments. Featuring a wide bandwidth which prevents possible detuning due to embedding in other materials, these UHF RFID tags are well suited also for integration in assets such as IT devices and power tools at the point of manufacture.

The Fit 400P are very small UHF RFID tags designed to provide read range up to 3.5 m on plastic and other non-metallic surfaces. Measuring just 17.6 x 7.1 x4.1 mm, they can be attached to plastic handles of work tools and to other non-metallic surfaces with rooms constraints. The Fit 400P tags feature a broad read angle for effective use with both handheld readers and fixed readers. Also the Fit 400P products provide high robustness for being reliably used in industrial environments and are compatible with finishing processes for integration into assets at the point of manufacture.
