Active RFID tags for asset tracking

Samui

.

The Samui are small and lightweight active RFID tags designed for long range wireless tracking and safety monitoring of a wide range of assets including trolleys, pallets, boxes and computers. The Samui product line is made up of a variety of versions which feature different types of batteries, additional 30 kB of user memory, built-in time clock and a programmable accelerometer that is able to detect shocks and incorrect handling. The product version with accelerometer can be used also for monitoring g-forces of sportsmen during their performance, allowing therefore the calculation of their physical energy consumption. The Samui can be configured to beacon mode which makes the tag send its UID in regular intervals, or to wake-up mode with the tag transmitting only when commanded by an authorized reader. Intended for use with TM700 series RFIDS readers, the Samui tags provide long read range up to 60 meters and allow to monitor the position of objects and make real-time inventory without line-of-sight.
