The new heat sealing RFID tags from Novadis are primarily designed to allow quick and cost-effective, permanent RFID tagging of apparel, shoes and other textile and leather goods.
Featuring a special thermo-reactive adhesive, the Nova-Tag Seal products can be easily attached by using a heat-seal press machine, which is recommended to hasten operations at the point of manufacture, or manually with a flatiron. Once attached, these heat sealing RFID tags offer secure anti-tampering functionality as they cannot be removed without breaking. Differently from common RFID inlays, they provide good durability against exposure to chemicals and high temperature, withstand autoclave sterilization and a wide range of common washing and cleaning processes. These special RFID tags for apparel are robust but also soft and hypoallergenic, so they do not hamper movements and do not cause itchiness to skin. Besides apparel tagging, the Nova-Tag Seal products are a cost-efficient solution for other applications such as tracking of returnable containers, bags and other assets since the special adhesive securely adheres to a variety of plastics and other substrates. The products of the Nova-Tag Seal range can be also simply embedded or sewn onto textiles, and can be delivered with thermal adhesive on only one face or on both faces. The Nova-Tag Seal inlays are available in several different UHF and HF versions. The UHF models come in seven standard antenna designs with a range of chips that includes those of the Impinj Monza 4 Series, the Impinj Monza 5 and the NXP UCODE 7.
