The Slate is a UHF EPC Gen 2 reader specially designed for short and medium range applications. Thanks to the USB port for easy connection to any PC, the compact dimensions that approach those of an A4 paper sheet and its low profile of about 15 mm, this new reader is an ideal solutions ideal solution for point-of-sales, document tracking, RFID programming stations and access control applications. Moreover, it can be used as a building block for smart shelves and smart displays for retail applications. The integrated circular polarized antenna helps the reading of RFID tags in random orientations. The CAEN Slate RFID reader is based on the CAEN Quark module, the smallest and lowest power consuming module available on the market. The Slate is compliant with both the ETSI and FCC regulations.
