Among its growing range of Gen 2 compliant battery-free RFID passive sensors, Farsens has Fenix, passive RFID temperature sensor conceived to measure the surrounding instant temperature and transmit the data to any EPC Gen 2 reader.
.
Fenix reliably measures temperature values from -30°C to 85°C, with accuracy of ±2°C and resolution of 0.025°C RMS. As it works without any battery, this passive RFID temperature sensor does not require periodic maintenance due to battery replacement allowing wireless temperature measurement in non-accessible places and environments where the use of batteries is not recommended. The product is available in non-protected PCB formats for custom encapsulation or direct embedding in assets, or finished with a variety of encapsulation solutions to meet any requirement in terms of mounting options and durability, including IP68 protection. Therefore, besides cold chain tracking of perishable goods, Fenix is well suited for ambient temperature monitoring applications in industrial environments, i.e. for controlling the temperature of switchgears, IT assets and machinery.
Fenix comes in various antenna models to provide different directivity and read range up to 1.5 meters.
